There is no question about it, make money scams do seem to abound on the internet. It is a sad feature of our time. It seems that there are many unscrupulous people out there who can, and do, generate their own income by conning other people into parting with their hard-earned money. If you, like me, are determined to earn your living using the internet, this sad situation is one we must be aware of - we must be able to recognise a scam when we see one.

So how can you tell if you are being told the truth? There are a number of things you should look out for before considering making any purchase online. Here are a few suggestions that can help you to make wise choices and avoid the most common scams ...

Watch out for a Money-Back Guarantee. A money-back guarantee is a sign that the vendor is confident in the product. Personally, I would never buy anything online without such a guarantee. A decent guarantee will be a no-quibble offer and will allow you a reasonable amount of time to properly evaluate the product.

If the guarantee includes some kind of condition, then beware. For example, if it says something like 'if you can show me you have followed my methods'. Such guarantees may not be worthwhile. It may be that you will be asked to prove something should you wish to progress the refund. A good product will not get many return requests and hence, you want to be dealing with people who offer unconditional guarantees.

You need to be able to spot a false testimonial. After all, what is stopping people from just making then up? Well just their own ethics. So, in the case of a scammer, you are bound to see fake testimonials present.

Now it can be difficult to tell real testimonials from fake ones, but real ones come from real people who generally don't mind their website addresses or even their photographs to be displayed. When you see this kind of detail included, it is more likely a genuine testimonial you are looking at.

There are many great products out there on the internet that we all purchase from time to time. Learning how to play it safe is really just a matter of applying some basic common-sense. If you follow my advice, you won't be one of those unlucky people who get scammed.
